Themed Party Planning

Many people enjoy themed party planning and why not it’s a great stress reliever for the end of the work week. One suggestion you might want to keep in mind would be, when planning a party that is themed and requires your guest to dress up, make sure all your guests are well informed of your themed party idea. Have a few back-up costume tips to help  your guests out, so it is fun for them and not frustrating.

Holiday Party Activities

One of my favorite Holiday Party Activities is a cookie party. It cuts your Christmas baking time in half.

To start your holiday party, invite about 12 friends (although the amount of people will be up to you). Have each guest let you know what type of cookie they are baking (making sure no one picks the same cookie). I let each person know to bake 12 1/2 dozen of their cookie choice and to wrap the 12 dozen cookies in individual packages of 1 dozen each. With the additional 1/2 dozen, I have them get creative and bring them displayed, to be judged by everyone at the party. An example would be, one year a guest displayed their cookies inside an old fashioned looking sled that measured about 15″ long. We try to come up with ideas that we could use during our Christmas Holiday Party to display our cookies in an appetizing way. This contest has become very competitive over the years.

When inviting your guests, make sure to remind them to bring a basket, box, or large sack in order to carry home their cookies. When the party is coming to an end, each of your twelve guests will receive twelve dozen different cookies to take home. We just take turns picking out one of each cookie (making sure you or your guests do not pick up their own cookies) and each person will go home happy with 12 dozen different types of cookies to share with their family and friends during the holidays.

Hollywood Themed Party Ideas

Who doesn’t have a favorite actor or actress? Or a favorite movie of all time. There are many Hollywood Themed Party Ideas, but here is one to make your party Oscar worthy.

Have your gets come as their favorite Hollywood Movie Star. This can be the actual actor or actress, or a character they have played in the movies. Once the party gets going and everyone is having fun, have your guests take turns portraying something their character would say or do in one of  their movies (example: Clint Eastwood would say “Make my day”). When everyone is done give your own little Oscars for “Best Actress” , “Best Actor” and so on.

Hope your party is an Oscar winner.

Caribbean Themed Party Ideas

2009
04.20

Themed Caribbean Parties are great to have any time of year. Indoors or outdoors there always lots of fun. If you’re looking for some Themed Party Ideas here are a few.

Invitations: Here is a cool idea a friend of mine tried. Go to your nearest dollar general store or cheap discount store and buy several different pairs of colorful rubber flip flops. Write your party information on the back of each flip flop and hand deliver to your guests.  I’m sure they will love the idea.

Attire: Have your guests come dressed in your themed party style. You could suggest they wear bright colorful cloths, a cool pair of cut off’s, a light summery dress, and of course flip flops optional.

Music: how about a CD with steel drums for background music. You could even mix it up a little with some Jimmy Buffet or Reggae music.

Appetizers: I found a great Caribbean Themed recipe that your guests are sure to love
