Luau Party Decorations

2009
05.10

Luau’s are one of the most fun and easy parties to decorate for. With a few well placed plastic palm trees, and lighting up the area with colorful or floral paper lanterns you have a great start. You can then place pineapples on your tables as center peices, if you don’t like that try a pillar candle with sea shells around it. For an outside party you could also light up a few tiki torches for the ambeiance, greet your guests with  leis and a kiss on the cheek. For your guest tables I’ve seen grass skirting that can be used. As far as your guests are concerned have them follow along with your luau party decorations. Have them be sure to wear grass skirts, coconut bras, or bikini tops, bright baggy shorts, even bright floral dresses.

Be sure to leave a comment and tell others some of your Luau Party Decoration Ideas.

Pirate Birthday Party

2009
05.03

Shiver me Timbers, if it’s a Pirate Birthday Party your maties are wanting, it’s a blast you’ll be having.

Pirate party’s are one of the most popular theme party ideas to have. One of the most popular party activities would be a treasure hunt. Using a crumpled brown paper bag, create clues. Give the first clue to the captain of the pirates (the birthday boy or girl), and using pirate vocabulary describe where they (the birthday guests) can find the next clue, finally ending with them finding the hidden treasure chest, these can be found in most craft stores. The treasure chest itself should have enough in it to have something for each guest for their treat bags. You can fill the treasure chest with lots of fun items such as chocolate gold coins, gold fish crackers, eye patches, a dew rag for their head. Most of these items can be found at a discount. You can become very creative with this treasure hunt activity. Some examples would be hiding a clue inside a balloon, but blow up many for the guests to sit on and bust to get to that clue, or have a clue in the bottom of a cold bowl of spaghetti noodles (this is always fun).

  • Holiday Party Activities

One of my favorite Holiday Party Activities is a cookie party. It cuts your Christmas baking time in half.To start your holiday party, invite about 12 friends (although the amount of people will be up to you). Have each guest let you know what type of cookie they are baking (making sure no one picks the same cookie). I let each person know to bake 12 1/2 dozen of their cookie choice and to wrap the 12 dozen cookies in individual packages of 1 dozen each. With the additional 1/2 dozen, I have them get creative and bring them displayed, to be judged by everyone at the party. An example would be, one year a guest displayed their cookies inside an old fashioned looking sled that measured about 15″ long. We try to come up with ideas that we could use during our Christmas Holiday Party to display our cookies in an appetizing way. This contest has become very competitive over the years.

There are many Hollywood Themed Party Ideas, but here is one to make your party Oscar worthy.Have your gets come as their favorite Hollywood Movie Star. This can be the actual actor or actress, or a character they have played in the movies. Once the party gets going and everyone is having fun, have your guests take turns portraying something their character would say or do in one of  their movies (example: Clint Eastwood would say “Make my day”). When everyone is done give your own little Oscars for “Best Actress” , “Best Actor” and so on.Hope your party is an Oscar winner.Leave your comments below and let others know your favorite Hollywood Themed Party Ideas.
  • Themed Party Planning
Posted on Thursday, April 30th, 2009 in Themed Party Ideas – Comments: (0)
Many people enjoy themed party planning and why not it’s a great stress reliever for the end of the work week. One suggestion you might want to keep in mind would be, when planning a party that is themed and requires your guest to dress up, make sure all your guests are well informed of your themed party idea. Have a few back-up costume tips to help  your guests out, so it is fun for them and not frustrating.
